Quentin Richardson Reaches Deal With Magic
Reports have it that the Orland Magic have reached a deal with Quentin Richardson, who was on the free agent list. The official announcement has not been made yet, and there are no details on the terms of the contract.
A source spoke with AP on condition of anonymity since the deal has yet to be officially announced.
Richardson’s deal has started leading to speculation on free agent Matt Barnes, who the Magic were talking with. Last season, Richardson averaged 8.9 points a game and 4.9 rebounds as a small forward, playing for the Miami Heat.

Mom Sofia Vergara In White-Hot Bikini
Modern Family star Sofia Vergara took to the Italian coast this weekend to celebrate her birthday and her recent Emmy nomination (Vergara, one of many Modern Family stars and contributors nominated, is up for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy).
The 38-year-old Colombian actress is taking a two-week relaxing holiday with boyfriend and businessman Nick Loeb, enjoying the shores if Ischia. Carlos Santana Proposed To Girlfriend Cindy Blackman
Carlos Santana, 62, proposed to girlfriend Cindy Blackman, 50, onstage during his concert at Tinley Park, Illinois this past Friday. After accepting his proposal, the two kissed with fans celebrating the joyous moment for the couple.
Santana is currently on his Universal Tone Tour with about two months already completed. He is also getting ready for Guitar Heaven: Santana Performs the Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time, which is about to be released. This will be his first studio album in nearly six years.
There has not been any wedding announcements released yet. This will be Carlos Santana’s second marriage. He was married to Deborah Santana for 34 years before she divorced him in 2007. Santana still knows how to be romantic with his special proposal so we will have to see what he has up his sleeves for the wedding.

Jezebel and the Daily Show
Last week, I wrote my take on the Jezebel/Daily Show showdown over at BlogHer. This morning, the New York Times posted a story about Jezebel titled, “The Blog Jezebel is Not Afraid to Pick a Fight,” though the irony in the cries of sexism in the hiring practices of the Daily Show is reflected in the Jezebel newsroom photos. The first shows Jessica Coen standing in front of several male employees on computers. The second one shows the mostly male staff of Jezebel at work (helpfully labeled by Josh):
Where are the women of Jezebel? Why are we mostly seeing men in the pictures? Is Jezebel engaging in…gasp…sexist hiring practices at a WOMEN’S WEB SITE?
But the fact is that just as you can’t get the whole story of what is happening at the Daily Show simply by speaking to ex-employees and a few people who haven’t been hired by the show, you can’t know how many women or how many men or how important any individual’s job is to the whole of the product simply by examining the tiny sliver of reality contained in a photograph. No, I don’t believe that Jezebel engages in sexist hiring practices any more than I believe the Daily Show has it out for women.
But I do think it’s a series of interesting photos considering the accusations of the blog.

Jesse Jackson Defends LeBron James
Stop the presses: Jesse Jackson has come to the defense of LeBron James. Mind you, no one asked him to, no one cares what he says, and some of his word choice was predictably ridiculous - but he defended the NBA star, alright!
Naturally, he compared bitter Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, whose open letter to fans tore into James after he bolted the city, to a "slave master."
In a harshly-worded statement, the civil rights leader took Gilbert to task for his comments regarding LeBron's decision last week to sign with the Miami Heat.
Jackson says, "He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers. His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality."
"He sees LeBron as a runaway slave."
Jesse goes on, "LeBron is not a child, nor is he bound to play on Gilbert’s plantation and be demeaned. He has been a model citizen and has inspired the children of Akron, Cleveland, the State of Ohio and the United States."
Okay, look.
No one is arguing James was bound to play for Cleveland and no one else, but it's crystal clear why no sports fan outside South Florida likes him right now.
The egotistical superstar didn't simply abandon his hometown, he strung it along, then delivered the news in an absurd, staged primetime special on ESPN.
Then he was introduced as a member of the Heat in a similarly bombastic, over-the-top event in Miami the next night, cementing his me-first villain status.

App Inventor for Android
Google just released App Inventor for Android, a web based application builder that will help aspiring young developers create Android applications with just few drags and drops and no need to learn Java or type one line of code. There are plenty of tutorials and samples to help set up your system and start building the first app. Google also set up a Google Group to share experiences or get help. The builder is web-based but it requires an Android phone connected by USB to your Windows or Mac computer.
This is a great tool for education and this is what Google wants this to be used for. There is a form to fill out to get access where you are asked to mention your school or affiliation, as well as other information. It would seem that the App Inventor team will review and approve applications; access is not open yet.
I find it strange that early posts about App Inventor (Gizmodo, TechCrunch) seem a little worried that it will pollute the Android Market. First, after reading all the tutorials and help, I could not see anywhere mentioned that you can publish created apps in the Android Market, and there is nothing about linking the tool to an Android developer account. App Inventor would be primarily used in classrooms to spark interest in software development. Young app developers will be able to create, test and share apps with the class or school. Angie Harmon in Rizzoli & Isles
Angie Harmon in Rizzoli & Isles, New TNT Detective-Drama - We will see Angie Harmon again on the screen. She is playing in a new TNT detective-drama show, Rizzoli & Isles.
This new crime show sets in Boston, features Angie Harmon as detective Jane Rizzoli and Sasha Alexander as Maura Isles, a smart medical examiner. The centerpiece of the show is the close friendship and working relationship between these two women.
This series is not far from the other shows played by Angie Harmon. A female detective and a medical examiner characters, Harmon seems to be gravitated towards the same roles.
Both Harmon and Alexander have great experience in crime-show serials ("Law & Order" and "NCIS"). So let's hope Rizzoli & Isles had a good writing to, at least, appeals the viewers of the very popular "The Closer".

Walter Hawkins, famed gospel singer, dead at 61
Grammy Award-winning gospel singer, composer, and pastor, Walter Hawkins died Sunday at his home in Ripon, California after losing a battle with cancer. He was 61.
According to his older brother, Edwin Hawkins, Walter fought an arduous battle with pancreatic cancer. “Today, I lost my brother, my pastor, and my best friend… Bishop Hawkins suffered bravely but now he will suffer no more and will be greatly missed,” he said.
The gospel singer was born in Oakland, California and obtained his divinity degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
In 1972 he recorded his first album ‘Do Your Best.’
In 1973, he became a pastor and founded the Love Center Church in Oakland.
The Mercury News reports that Bill Carpenter, a friend and family representative said that Hawkins garnered nine Grammy nominations after recording a series of albums. Hawkins' ‘The Lord’s Prayer,’ won him a Grammy in 1980.
Hawkins was once married to gospel great Tramaine Hawkins, but the union ended in divorce.
Hawkins is survived by two children, Trystan Hawkins and Walter “Jamie” Hawkins Jr., an R&B singer; a daughter-in-law, gospel singer Myiia “Sunny” Hawkins; two grandchildren, Jamie-Daniel and Jahve; and his siblings, Carol, Feddie, Edwin, Daniel, and Lynette.
