Stonefish gains national attention

The Stonefish has recently gained national attention. The Stonefish is one fish that can be looked at, but never should be touched. It is actually the most venomous fish found on the entire planet.

In Australia, Stonefish stings are a lot more common as the fish lives coastal areas of the Indian and Pacific oceans. It blends in well with coral and rocks making it hard to see to casual passers.

It is also an unusual fish because it can live out of the water for up to 24 hours making just as lethal when on land. Those who get stung by the venomous fish are usually treated with anti-venom and heat treatments. By heating up the infected area, it can kill the venom, but anti-venom works as well.
